When my bank account takes me off my leash, I turn into a Foodie
In no way am I "encouraging" frivolous spending, but what I AM saying is, you can't live a FULL life on an EMPTY stomach. This is my top 7 list of restaurants and eateries that have truly made me genuine joy
Thai Place Restaurant and Full Bar- Winter Park, FL | This place has recently impressed me and will definitely be remembered. What a delightful experience! I came across this gem while searching for Asian dining options online. I decided to make it a day out and visited the restaurant promptly. I was immediately drawn to the Thai Crackle Shrimp for my appetizer. For my main course, I opted for the 'Drunken Fried Rice'. Additionally, I sampled the Pad Woon Sen, a stir-fried clear noodle dish with egg, mixed vegetables, and house sauce, as well as the Yellow Curry. The portion sizes were generous! The food was deliciously hot and satisfying. This restaurant truly satisfied my craving for a quick and flavorsome lunch! 9/10
Boulevard Family Restaurant - Port Richey, FL| I am a SUCKER for a mom-and-pop breakfast spot. Truly. I'm a simple gal. home fries, bacon, a watered-down mimosa that I'll probably sip twice, and I'm there! It's a date! I thought that the classy-country aesthetic was super charming. Its quaint and comforting. My personal go-to "safe" order is eggs over hard, hashbrowns, a protein, and pancakes. My order arrived with a surprise twist. The eggs were incredibly light and fluffy, the bacon perfectly crisp and full of flavor. While I had initially planned to save the pancakes for last, the irresistible combination of crispy edges and buttery aroma compelled me to take a bite out of order. The service was attentive and personalized, making the experience even more enjoyable. Additionally, I requested a side of fresh fruit and a cup of coffee. 7/10
Glai Baan - Phoenix, Arizona| Yep, were back an Asian favorite. Thai street food. I can't help it! I actually thrifted this place from TikTok. Seen that it was neighborhood staple and was immediately drawn to its simple but authentic cuisine. So, straight away from the airport, I found this place. Very interesting location. Was so in love with the location and foliage of the vines and shrubbery growing on the building. I was definitely excited. This was very much a vibe that I like. Upon entering it had a small and traditional setting. That character carried itself to its menu. The items were small portioned and conventional. It had a small village type beauty. I dined outside and was escorted to a cozy garden type area with seating. I was in love. Ok, so the menu was wild, but I did the best I could with choosing something tasty. I started off with the 'Peek gai tod' (chicken wings). Crispy and delicious. Since the portions were somewhat small, I ordered 'Yum woon sen', (glass noodle, minced shrimp, herbs and lime dressing) Pad Thai, and Steamed pork dumpling with ginger sauce. Couldn't leave without trying the Chai tea either. Was definitely an experience! 8/10
To Go Doughnuts - Sanford, FL| You get a doughnut, He gets a doughnut, she gets a doughnut, we all need a doughnut! I honestly can't recall how I came across this place, but why are we dwelling on what doesn't matter when the fact that it exists is looming in existence? I feel like no matter your flavor, preference or creed, there is a pastry here for you. I have only been visiting this location and have already established my favorite go-to picks upon arrival. Have you ever tried a cinnamon sugar croughnut? Oh, what is it you ask? It's the collaboration of a croissant and a doughnut sprinkled with cinnamony sugary dust. Its light and flaky, with layers and just an overall joyous bite every time. They have other choices topped with you name it, stuffed with whatever you can think of, and of course classic favorites. Don't ask me what time they open; all I know is that they close at 2pm and I have to get there before they close to get a yummy pastry! 8/10
The Great Outdoors Restaurant -High Springs, FL| Hey, dont knock it till you try it. While visiting Poe Springs at a nearby Getaway Cabin, I visited a antique store in a small town nearby. (Yes, I love visiting small country towns) I noticed this place while walking downtown near the areas shopping area. Beautiful building and interesting features. The inside of this place lives up to name and gave me a cabin-like feel. Lots of wood decor and heirlooms. As a habit I chose to sit outside. The atmosphere was so much better and homey. I ordered the traditional burger and fry route and was not disappointed. The waitress suggested that I add bacon jam to sandwich, to my surprise, was a great addition. It was very quiet and not very busy, so it felt as if we had the whole back patio area to ourselves. I had a great time at this location and wouldn't mind visiting again! 7/10
Cress On Oak Creek - Sedona, Arizona| Glad you could join me here again. Were BACK with an ARIZONA favorite. Ok, so take the food away, this location.... breathtaking! I was in awe! So let me set this up for you. Arriving at this restaurant, the valet service adds an extra touch of elegance right from the start. As you descend into the various outdoor seating areas with a fire pit and lounge options, you get a comprehensive view of the entire establishment, which also functions as a hotel offering suites for rent. Moving towards the back area, you find seating arranged along a tranquil flowing stream, surrounded by smooth rocks, trees, and sunlight. The dining tables are equipped with warmers for cooler weather and umbrellas for warmer days, creating a delightful ambiance. The setting is incredibly romantic and picturesque, with a few other couples discreetly spaced out, making you feel as if you and your companion are the only one's present, evoking an exclusive dining experience. We enjoyed a simple yet heavenly brunch, mesmerized by the water and sunrise views. This place was a true Eden.
Garibaldis Mexican Restaurant and Bar - Apopka, FL| Location is crucial! Even before setting foot in the place, the ambiance alone confirms that you've chosen well. Vibrant, lively, and filled with music, the place is a delight. The fact that the food is delicious is an extra perk, and I can assure you, it truly is! What you notice are steaming dishes, vibrant beverages, and smiling expressions. I couldn't get the meal started with some ceviche. Big chunks of meat, crisp onions and slices of avocado. Ok so I am a fajita girl. However you make them is how I want them. I chose steak and shrimp the first time I came, and just steak the second time. Both were amazing. They come with Spanish rice, beans, your greens for topping, guacamole and sour cream. I always order a second helping of tortillas, and I'm ready. The kiddos got a cheese quesadilla and a beef burrito. I snagged a bite of both; they were also yummy. The staff is very attentive and speedy. The staff is well put together and organized. The amount of seating would have been intimidating to me as a waitress, but these people fly up and down the dining floor servicing needs efficiently. Great energy here every time, food is memorable. 9/10
